Brent Maloney, Youth Pastor

Bio: I was born and raised in Detroit, MI, where I was the kid whose family took us to church every chance the doors were open, and even times when they weren’t supposed to be…largely because my dad was the pastor! As far back as I can remember, I’ve always been fascinated by Jesus, and the purity with which He loved and served others. Like many, I had my times where I struggled with things I experienced “church people” saying or doing that wasn’t exactly Christ-like, but always knew that there was something so powerful and real about Jesus Himself, that I couldn’t take my cues on faith and Jesus from how they were living. During my teenage years, Jesus began to put a passion in my heart for younger generations, to help them develop an authentic faith in Him that holds firm even through the most uncertain times of their lives. I’ve pursued this mission over the years as a youth and college pastor, music pastor, Executive Director of a non-profit youth organization, and also through media arts based mentoring and education.

Family: In 2008 I married my best friend, Lindsey, who has been such an amazing gift from God, and made waiting until I was nearly 30 to get married fully worth it! This past year, God’s entrusted us with our beautiful little girl, Elliana, and we cherish every day we have to point her towards Jesus!

Interests: Making and playing music has always been a huge part of my life. In addition to working with the youth of Four Points, I also manage a recording studio, and play in a couple bands…the Four Points worship band being one of them. Oh, and I can’t leave out sports…love playing football, baseball, golf, and basketball, and if fantasy football was a real sport I’d probably try to go pro in that!

Education: I graduated with a B.A. in Youth Ministry & Christian Education from Lee University, and also received my Pro Tools Certification this past year for audio production. I also Google stuff regularly, so I learn a lot that way too!
